Council employees celebrate achievement in Essential IT Skills

17 Fermanagh District Council employees have successfully completed an Essential IT Skills course in South West College.
The course was organised by the Council in conjunction with South West College and allowed attendees to develop an understanding of areas such as; Word Processing, Internet, Email Usage and File Management.
Chairman of Fermanagh District Council, Councillor Thomas O’Reilly, said:
“The use of Information Technology in every aspect of our daily life is becoming increasingly essential.”
“The Council were delighted to be able to work with South West College to offer the Essential IT Skills course to its employees and hope to continue to provide this essential training.”
The course was delivered by Paula Kerr, part-time lecturer with South West College, over twelve weeks.
The successful employees were recently presented with their certification of completion by Council Chairman, Councillor Thomas O’Reilly in the Townhall.
The Council are liaising with South West College and hope to organise numeracy and literacy courses in the near future, giving employees an opportunity to improve their everyday Maths and English skills.
