Easter Art Exhibition at Higher Bridges Gallery

Wednesday, 04 April 2012

The Higher Bridges Gallery in Enniskillen will host its inaugural Easter exhibition of visual art work from 5 April to 7 May.

Opening on Thursday 5 April at 8pm, the exhibition will showcase a diverse selection of new, established, amateur, emerging and professional art from Ireland, England, the USA and County Fermanagh, following an open call in January from the Fermanagh District Council Arts Office for exhibitors to submit between one to four works for public exhibition.

Speaking about the exhibition, Diane Henshaw, Arts Officer, Fermanagh District Council, said:
“In times that opportunities for artists to showcase and sell work are few and far between exhibitions such as this one are of great importance as a catalyst by which work can be sold and creating a platform through which the arts community can participate and exhibit together in a high profile gallery.

The exhibition creates a unique opportunity for one to purchase something that little bit different as well as provide a fantastic opportunity for all of us to invest in the Arts and support the creative industries,” adds Diane.

The exhibition boasts a wide selection of artwork including bronze sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, textiles, photography, digital photographic art, tape art, graphic design, ceramics and much more. All work is for sale and ranges in price from £80 to £2000.

Noelle McAlinden, who sits on numerous arts committees and boards including the Arts Council of Northern Ireland Board of Directors, and Fermanagh District Council Arts Advisory Committee, will deliver the opening speech on Thursday 5 April.

The gallery will be open Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Tuesday and will continue to be open every day, with the exception of Sundays, through to the 7th May. Gallery opening times are Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm and Saturday 11am to 4pm.
