Thursday, 10 March 2011

The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment has today launched a consultation document on a draft Telecommunications Action Plan for the period 2011-2015.

The Action Plan sets out DETI’s thoughts on the key priorities and themes to be taken forward over the next 4 years in order to ensure that Northern Ireland continues to have a telecommunications infrastructure that is fit for purpose and capable of supporting the growth of the local economy.

The consultation document (and the accompanying impact assessments) is available to view or download from the Department’s website at www.detini.gov.uk/content-home-consultations. However, if you do not have access to the internet or would like a copy of the document in an alternative format, please contact Paul Rose by telephoning 028 9052 9608 and a copy will be posted to you.

As part of the consultation process, DETI will be hosting a series of public meetings in the weeks commencing 14 and 21 March 2011. This includes a public meeting on Wednesday 16th March 2011 at 7pm in the Clinton Centre, Enniskillen.

Responses to the consultation should be sent in writing to Paul Rose, Telecoms Policy Unit, DETI, Netherleigh, Massey Avenue, Belfast, BT4 2JP or by e-mail to paul.rose@detini.gov.uk.

The closing date for receipt of responses to the consultation is 3.00pm on Friday 27 May 2011.
