The Electoral Commission, in partnership with the Electoral Office for Northern Ireland and Royal Mail, is running a number of pre-election seminars for candidates and their agents taking part in the Northern Ireland Assembly and local government elections.

The seminars provide an opportunity to gain essential information on what is required to take part in the elections, including information on

•    how to get nominated as candidate
•    electoral registration and absent voting
•    what you can spend at the election
•    what you need to report
•    registering a political party
•    election literature and freepost

The seminars will take place at 7:00pm on the following dates:

Tuesday 8 March 2011: City Hotel Derry/Londonderry

Wednesday 9 March 2011: Radisson Blu Hotel, Ormeau Road, Belfast

Monday 14 March 2011: Armagh City Hotel

Places at each of the seminars are limited so booking is essential.
