| Art Of Regneration Comes To A Close After 4 Years
In 2005 Diane Henshaw, The Arts Officer at The Council secured funding for just under half a million pounds from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, in partnership with The Share Centre in Lisnaskea, 40 community groups across Fermanagh & delivered a major arts in context outreach initiative in 5 major creative disciplines.
The programme to date has brought major economic development to the Arts Sector employing 2 Arts Co-ordinators over the course of the programme as well as over 26 artists within the following art forms:
· Contemporary and Traditional Dance : Artist: Dylan Quinn
· Literature: Artist: Seamas Mac Annaidh
· Carnival arts: Artist: Genevieve Murphy
· Environmental Arts and Sculpture :
Artists: Jon Kelly, Holger Lonze, Helen Sharp
· Traditional Music: Group: Fermanagh Traditional Music Society
The Programme continue to leave a legacy in Fermanagh with newly constituted groups emerging out of the project:
· Together one Voice singing group
· Enniskillen Writers Group
· Visual Arts Fermanagh
· Fermanagh Arts Festivals aka Enniskillen Arts Festival
Artists who have been involved in the programme continue to develop their art form at a local and national level and are actively seeking funding and new partnerships through which they can develop their work within Fermanagh on an annual basis.
