A Call to Local Food & Craft Producers to Provide a Unique Christmas Shopping Experience

Monday, 08 November 2010

For the first time ever, a Christmas Craft & Food Fair is being organised within the picturesque surroundings of Enniskillen Castle Courtyard in the heart of the town.  Fermanagh County Museum at Enniskillen Castle is putting out a call to local food and craft producers to apply for the limited spaces available at this event.

The Christmas market is taking place on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 December 2010 between 12pm and 5pm on each day.  The event is being organised by Fermanagh County Museum Service to celebrate the richness and diversity of craft and food in the County as well as to support local craftspeople and food producers.

Speaking about the forthcoming event, Sarah McHugh, Manager of Fermanagh County Museum said:
“This is our first foray into organising this type of Christmas market at Enniskillen Castle- a stunning back-drop of great historical significance.  We have contacted a range of different crafts people and food producers to have as rich a variety of goods available as possible.  Hopefully any craft and food producers we have missed are reading this now and will contact us to get an application form.

We are happy to consider applications from any craftsperson or food producer, wishing to sell or demonstrate high quality arts, crafts, gifts, food and drink. As this event has been funded by Fermanagh Lakeland Tourism and Fermanagh District Council, priority will be given to artists and producers based in County Fermanagh, but anyone offering quality goods is welcome to apply.”

Tanya Cathcart of Fermanagh Lakeland Tourism said:
“It is wonderful to have this market taking place at Enniskillen Castle’s courtyard this year.  Fermanagh has a great array of food and craft produce which will appeal to local and visitor alike and Fermanagh Lakeland Tourism is delighted to support this new and unique shopping opportunity.”

Any food or craft producer wishing to sell or demonstrate at the Christmas Craft and Food Fair can get an application form by contacting Fermanagh County Museum at +44 (0) 28 6632 5000 or by emailing to [email protected] or by downloading an application form.  The closing date for applications is Friday 12 November.  As there are limited spaces available, a selection will be made to ensure that a good cross-section of foods and crafts are represented.
