Get on Your Bike for Special Olympics

Special Olympics Ireland needs to raise funds to support the existing programme in Fermanagh and other clubs all across Ireland, North and South and realise the strategy of having 16,000 athletes across Ireland recruited by the end of 2007.  To raise funds SOI has launched a national campaign to run from January to April 2007 titled ‘Support an Athlete’.

We are asking people to become involved, run, and or engage in any fundraising event between now and April, when the team for China 2007 will be announced. One such event is the "Get on Your Bike for Special Olympics".

Time to dust off saddle, oil the chain and limber up for the summer. Here is a good motivator to start off the summer season as you mean to go on.

Special Olympics needs to raise funds to support and grow its network in providing competitive sport opportunity to people with special needs.

1. You can download a sponsorship form in PDF format by clicking here* or alternatively you may pick one up at any of these locations:

Lakeland Forum, Enniskillen
Castle Park Centre, Lisnaskea
Bawnacre Centre, Irvinestown

2.Get Sponsored! by your family, friends, neighbours, workmates or schoolmates.

3.On Sunday April 22nd at 3pm -  BIKE OUT! Come along and park at the Ardhowen Theatre and cycle up to Castle Coole and back.

* Note: The file is 375kb in size (this will take about 6 minutes on a 56k dial-up modem) and is created by Adobe Acrobat (pdf format). You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your machine, most new Computers have this program installed on them, however if you do not have it you can download it free of charge from the  Adobe website by clicking here.

For added crack get a group of your family / friends or workmates to ‘bike out’ with you.

Or you can also come along on the day and pay £5 to join the bike out. Kids go free – they will be there to give you moral support or put you to shame!
