Free Literature talks at the Higher Bridges Gallery |

| Fermanagh District Council would like to invite you to a series of Free Literature talks at the Higher Bridges Gallery with Poet & Critic Kevin Quinn to celebrate the Samuel Beckett Centenary & other Literary Irish greats.
Born in Enniskillen, Kevin Quinn is a Belfast based poet and critic. He was educated at Saint Michael’s College Enniskillen and University College Dublin where he studied English and German. His poems have appeared in a number of journals, including Poetry Ireland and Fortnight. For a number of years he has been talking about and reading poetry in arts venues, universities and schools throughout Ireland. His aim in his talks is to communicate to audiences the thrill and excitement of poetry read aloud. He has given talks on, among others, Yeats, Seamus Heaney, Paul Muldoon, Michael Longley, Robert Frost, Philip Larkin, John Donne and Emily Dickinson as well as The War Poets.
1. Thursday 13th April 2006 at 8.00pm: Arsing About: The Novels and Poems of Samuel Beckett The Beckett Centenary will be launched by Councillor Stephen Huggett Chairman of Fermanagh District Council
2. Friday 14th April 2006 at 8.00pm: A Poetry Tour of Ireland: a reading of poems written about places in Ireland
3. Friday 21st April 2006 at 8.00pm: WB Yeats – talk with readings
4. Friday 28th April at 8.00pm: Robert Frost – talk with readings
5. Friday 12th May at 8.00pm: Patrick Kavanagh – talk with readings
6. Friday 19th May at 8.00pm: How to Read a Poem – talk with readings from, among others, Heaney, Larkin, Hardy, Hopkins, Muldoon, Clare, Owen Pound, Donne, Mahon.
