A newsletter with essential information about the G8 Summit will be delivered by post to every residential and business address in County Fermanagh from 28 May.
The 12-page newsletter provides important information for residents and businesses on what to expect around the time of the G8 Summit and how to continue to access local services.
The newsletter will also be available to download from the Fermanagh District Council website from 28 May.
The G8 Summit will take place in the Lough Erne Resort, Enniskillen, on Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 June, where eight world leaders will meet to discuss global issues.
“While County Fermanagh and Enniskillen is open for business during the period of the G8 Summit, people should expect some disruption with such a large number of people, including support staff and international media, all making their way to the County,” said Councillor Thomas O’Reilly, Chairman of Fermanagh District Council.
Councillor O’Reilly is encouraging people to look out for the newsletter which will be delivered to their home or business address, by post, from 28 May.
“The newsletter is a useful resource for residents and businesses, helping people to make plans so they can, as far as possible, go about their normal business in the lead up to and during the G8 Summit,” Councillor O’Reilly added.
The information provided in the newsletter has been supplied by a number of service providers and public sector agencies and collated by Fermanagh District Council.
The newsletter provides key information on traffic and travel plans, access to health services and government services such as the Jobs and Benefits Office, school transport and examination arrangements, bin collection plans and information on a programme of Family Day Out public participation events taking place in June across County Fermanagh.
All of the information in the newsletter is provided on the basis of the best available knowledge at the time and may be subject to change. Some government agencies will also publish, by public advertisement, details of their local arrangements closer to the time of the G8 Summit.
People are encouraged to keep up to date by logging onto the official G8 Summit website, www.g8ni2013.com
The G8 Summit information newsletter will also be distributed to public and community venues including Fermanagh District Council facilities and venues and will be available to download from www.fermanagh.gov.uk
