This week is Recycle Week and Fermanagh District Council wants you to recycle.
It may only involve recycling one more item this week or making a trip to your local recycling centre with recyclable materials, but it is all important.
Recycling is easy here in Fermanagh, with a wide range of accessible recycling options. For example, we can recycle at home using our blue bins or composting fruit and vegetable peelings. We can also recycle a wide range of materials at our local recycling centres. Materials accepted include:
Batteries
Plastic bags
Ggarden waste
Paint
Electrical appliances
Metal.
You can also recycle your glass bottles, cans and textiles at a ‘bring site’ located throughout the County.
One way to recycle at home, and in work, Would be to have a second bin designated for recyclable material, making sure to bring these separated materials to a Recycling Centre.
This year, during Recycle Week we are encouraging you to recycle your old, broken or unused electrical appliances.
Electrical appliances (WEEE) are a hazardous waste and are not allowed in landfill. Therefore, we cannot throw our electrical appliances into our green bins. It’s easy; just bring your electrical appliances down to your local recycling centre. If it’s got a plug in it, recycle it.
