Food Control

The Environmental Health Department places a great deal of emphasis on the maintenance and improvement of food safety and quality control measures.

In order to achieve this goal, we aim:

1. To prevent the spread of infectious disease and food borne infections.
2. To ensure that all food-based activities are conducted in a safe and hygienic way.
3. To enforce hygiene legislation through the inspection of food premises.
4. To carry out the inspection of foods as required.
5. To investigate food complaints made by members of the public and to take the appropriate action.
6. To seek to achieve a clean, safe environment by improving food safety standards.
