Overview

The domestic waste collection system is available to all residents in the Fermanagh District Council area, this geographical area covering all of Fermanagh and a small part of Tyrone at Irvinestown.The service is provided daily, Monday to Friday, including all public holidays except for three days at Christmas.

Wheelie Bins

The Council operates a 2-bin  kerbside wheeled bin collection system - a blue bin for dry recyclable waste including plastics, cans, papers, magazines and cardboard and a green bin for all other residual waste. Blue bins are emptied on alternate weeks to green bins (The opening Web page indicates green/blue collection weeks or view the Recycling leaflet). Containers are available from the Council Depot at the following prices:

* The 140 litre bin is recommended for single occupancy householders.
** The 240 litre bin is the standard size bin that most households would use.

The current  Council policy is that only one green bin is collected per household with the exception of :- 

  • there being 8 or more in the house
  • Occupational Therapists report on medical need.

How to pay

  • Apply to pay online for your Wheelie bin
  • By telephone (Contact Numbers below) - Credit or Debit Card accepted
  • By post - make cheque payable to Fermanagh District Council and forward to Technical Services Department (Address in full below)
  • In person to Killyvilly Depot or Townhall - Cash, Cheque, Credit or Debit Card accepted

To commence service please contact the Refuse Collection supervisor who will give you the day and approximate time of collection.

Replacement Scheme

For customers who want to replace their existing bin, the Council will provide a replacement  one at a reduced rate providing the old unit is returned to the Council for recycling. The costs of replacement bins are outlined below:

  • By telephone (Contact Numbers below) - Credit or Debit Card accepted .
  • By post - make cheque payable to Fermanagh District Council and forward to Technical Services Department (Address in full below)
  • In person to Killyvilly Depot or Townhall - Cash, Cheque, Credit or Debit Card accepted

Bins lost, stolen or burnt will only be replaced at the full sale price.
