| DEBUT COLLECTION BY FERMANAGH WRITERS
Enniskillen, April 2012 – The Ardhowen Theatre, Enniskillen will host the official launch of Tuesdays At Charlie’s, the debut anthology of writings by Fermanagh Creative Writing Group. On 24th May the Master of Ceremonies Keith Baker, former Head of News and Current Affairs for BBC Northern Ireland, acclaimed crime writer and Fermanagh native, will introduce selected readings from the book and a performance by Together One Voice choir. There will be food and drink and everyone is warmly invited to join the celebration.
Tuesdays At Charlie’s is a collection of stories, memoirs and poems from Fermanagh and other places, some real and some imagined. The pieces are as diverse as their writers: funny, moving, reflective, satiric and thought-provoking. There are tales about breaking into Enniskillen mortuary, meeting the Krays, halcyon Tempo days, a Titanic surprise, the Spirit of Christmas, how to lose a yo-yo contest - and cookies, crows, corpses, cross-dressers, Canada and cowboys. And a lot more, too. FCWG is grateful to Fermanagh District Council Arts Advisory Committee who kindly provided a grant toward the printing costs.
Fermanagh Creative Writing Group was founded in 2009 as a creative and social support network for writers in the Fermanagh area. Although its members have diverse backgrounds and experience they share a passion for putting pen to paper to create stories, poems, plays and novels. Website: www.fcwg.wordpress.com.
