| Hot on the heels of the appointment of 4 new dedicated InnoTech Centre staff in Fermanagh, the Centre has announced that it is hosting information days across the County. With the assistance of Enterprise Centres in Belcoo, Irvinestown, Belleek, Rosslea and Lisnaskea, the InnoTech staff will be hosting workshops to highlight the benefit of working with the Centre and also identifying some funding schemes that might be of interest to local businesses.
With InnoTech’s Fermanagh base now established in Fermanagh District Council’s INTEC Centre, the InnoTech staff intend to introduce themselves to Fermanagh by undertaking this 5-day tour. Each day the staff will have a base in a different town, providing local businesses or aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to drop in and discuss how the InnoTech Centre can assist them to develop, innovate and grow.
Speaking of the roadshow, Fergal Tuffy, research lecturer in the Centre said, “This tour gives us the opportunity to take the InnoTech Centre to the people. Fermanagh people are generally known for their entrepreneurial spirit and we want to make them aware of the technical expertise that we have to assist them.”
He continued, “The South West College is growing in Fermanagh year upon year. Last year we had the opening of the new Skills Centre in the Killyhevlin Industrial Estate. Now we have 4 members of staff dedicated to working with Fermanagh businesses. I would encourage businesses to come along to their nearest event and see what we can do to help you. There are numerous funding avenues that industry can avail of; examples include Invest NI’s innovation vouchers which offer £4000 worth of grant aid for R&D. There is also the small business support programme which we partner with the local Enterprise Centres on. These are only two streams of assistance but there are many more”.
The Centre has been established to support industry through technical research and development and mentoring and with established specialisms in environmental sustainability and renewable technologies; engineering, product design and prototyping; electronics, software and ICT and a new area of focus, tourism development and sustainable tourism.
The tour involves the following schedule, from 9am to 5pm daily:

Irvinestown - Tuesday 7th September

Belleek - Wednesday 8th September
